Watch this video – BVKID modeled after their organization
The following is a presentation to the media put on by a parent group in Upper Arlington, Ohio – UAKID – in conjunction with their district. This is the group that we modeled our parent organization after, as well as adapted their mission statement and objectives. Their president, Brett Tingley, is the first speaker. Her description of the obstacles put up by her district are virtually the same as we experienced in BVSD. Her description that the district was “broken at the top” is applicable in BVSD as well.
Read Memos from the district
Here are three official memos from the district administration to the BOE on dyslexia from September 2015, November 2015, and June 2016, and January 2017. These memos are extremely important to understand the historical approach taken by the BVSD literacy department towards dyslexia. They show a consistent pattern of behavior and lack of real willingness to change the approach towards identifying dyslexic students or supplying them with effective interventions.

The Ohio state funded Dyslexia Pilot Project goes further and does a cost analysis finding that all school districts following the program will show cost savings exceeding the initial investment.
